This was one of the first song that I ever liked, even before knowing what it meant. My cousin’s used to sing it so many times that the tune’s embedded in my brain! And after I came to know that it was Rita Coolidge who sang this, seems she also sang ‘words’, ‘I don’t want to talk about it’, 'we've got tonight', 'crazy love', which are also my all time fav songs. I've actually just downloaded these (rita's version).. lurve 'em!!

Think about this song, I’m sure in every relationship we all feel this way. You start a relationship, you become close, you share your feelings, and then start to talk about your past relationships. Yeah, in the beginning it seems quite alright, like everything’s cool. And then this stupid feeling called “J” comes along, which makes most of us go weak on the knees! Do you ever get that “I wanna know 'bout your past, but I don’t wanna know” feeling? Aarrghh.. I hate this feeling! And this is why I sometimes think its better not to know everything, leave it behind, stay true to each other and live the moment. Sometimes you're so sure that you're in love, but then again you doubt yourself. Coz the good Book tells us that “Love is not jealous”.
Now tell me again, Have You ever been in love? :-)

The guy must be really jealous - he didn't show his face during the whole song. Lovely song, loved it 15 years ago, it's still beautiful even now. And you wanna know the weirdest thing? A friend of mine recently posted the Rita Coolidge video on Facebook, and here you are now... this song keeps popping up everywhere I go.

on a more serious note yes dear we all go through that phase while in a relationship and sometimes even when out of it..it hurts just as hell when your ex is into another relationship...you think you've gotten over her/him but when you see her/him with another....holding hands together,their heads tilted againgt each other, whispering to each other, giggling....aaaa it drived me crazy and it hurts as hell.
even while in a relationship the green demon rears its ugly head. the song writer's right...i did wanna know about her past, i wanted to know if she was happier with him,did he make her laugh more,was he a better shoulder to cry on...above all did she still love him. i know it's damaging and i should have been wise enough to let bygones be bygones and love her for her...but as always i had to be "the jealous kind" nevertheless. Cheers!!

Yes, have been in love. . Love also come with deep understanding... Its true nobody wants to dig up the past.Sad but true.. the past comes back to haunt... what will you do then??? I bet it will be more difficult to deal with after than before... Honesty, truth and humility are very important to me... So, truth and honesty first.. to me. But through his own mouth!!!
@RitaZoye: Thanks for the feedback. Yea, i too believe that "honesty is the best policy" but knowing "everything" about their past is something i prefer not to know.
here everything includes mainly the Little things which may mean "nothing" at first.
But the Big things (which can haunt me later in life)- Sure i would like to know - from him of course.
